Can't find out.

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Can't find out.

Post by Casus_Belli »

Call me dense, but for the life of me I can't find out what is the status of occupied territory, or territory that has multiple coloured stripes. Sometimes the city surrenders and the whole province comes with it, but what is this in-between status. How does one go about incorporating these provinces entirely. Also, what can one do with prisoners? can they be incorporated, returned, garrissoned somewhere, what? I'm not complaining, just after some hints.
Furthermore, Carthage must be destroyed.

Occupied territory is just that, occupied, until the capital city is taken. Occupied provinces belong to the original owner, but are penalized in terms of production and such. The occupier does not gain any control over the province (though his forces again harm that provinces' potential for production, and they can also plunder and so forth.)

Cities surrender either after they are abandoned (i.e. no enemy troops are left in the capital) or after a successful siege (which more or less accomplishes the same thing), and at that point the province becomes conquered.
Also, what can one do with prisoners? can they be incorporated, returned, garrissoned somewhere, what? I'm not complaining, just after some hints.
At this point, prisoners are only good for storing somewhere out of the way. (After they have been stripped of their guns, that is, which happens automatically.) But please feel free to explain more creative solutions here.

As has been noted in a previous thread prisoners add to seige points when placed in province under seige by your army. It is obviously not an intended use by the developer, but none-the-less can used that way for now. Otherwise all they do is deny your enemy their use. I have tried to starve them but that hasn't worked for me. I usually stick them under light guard in an out of the way province until the war is over.

Why thank you. But I'm not quite clear: if you have them in an army beseiging a city, they add to your points? What if you have them in a city that is under siege, do they help with defence?
Furthermore, Carthage must be destroyed.

POWs can be set to loot too, which is sometimes handy when you are out to devastate your opponent and collect art treasures for the museums back home.

Not sure if that was design intended but there you have it.
