Looks to be a Northrop

Maybe a early A-17 model

Not Northrop[8D]


Hint = It was intended to replace the Dauntless, but the Navy changed it's mind in mid-stream. They should have stayed with their first thoughts.

The mystery plane is the Douglas BTD DESTROYER.

Designed to be a Dive bomber, switched to Torpedo bomber.
Great as a Dive bomber sucked as a Torpedo bomber.

Speed = 344 mph.
Torpedo = 1

Could carry 3,200 lbs of bombs in an internal bay.
