How good of a game does the A.I. play, compared to W.I.T.P.'s A.I.?

Also, do the Japanese have a greater or lesser chance for victory compared to W.I.T.P.

I can not answer the question on AI, I just can not see playing AI if you can play against a person. That being said I realize that alot of people want a good AI for various reasons. From what TankerAce says it is pretty good within reason.

As far as Japan goes I think they do have a real chance to win as long as you enact some honor rules. They should not be starting off fighting everyone.

I am not sure late game, but the US will not have the massive air power advantage late war that they have in WITP so it seems to be a much more balanced game from that standpoint. If the Japanese player can inflict heavy losses and knock the US fleet back to the West Coast, I think it becomes diffficult for the allies to win. You just have to husband your resources and not throw away your ships.

Is there modifiers that can be selected before the start of a game to give the AI an advantage? Such as an experience boost to their units or a better starting stance?

You should always play AI on at least hard for the best game. YOu can also choose "very Hard", and the AI gets combat bonuses.
