I got Spartan

Post by Ike99 »

I got Spartan last night, as I live in Argentina I did the electronic download.

Never had any problem getting the game or getting it to work through the download. The game itself is very fun to play for me. When I first opened it up I was worried by the lack of scenarios because the game doesn´t have an editor. I quickly found out in each scenario you can pick any city to play on the board and each city has it´s own objectives and setups. This gives you over a 100 different variations to play so the replay value of the game is high despite not having an editor.

What I like also it the game is very simple to play. Don´t get me wrong in my idea by thinking it´s a simple game because it isn´t. It´s easy to jump in and move things around while building but I quickly found out it´s not an easy game to win and has alot of depth.

The way Spartan does the battles is just about right for me. You have a little control over the tactical aspects of each battle with the main focus on the strategic elements of the game.

The only thing more I would have liked to seen more with this game is ¨hotseat play¨ This game begs for hotseat play in my opinion.

So to sum up, if you like ancient greece history and battles you won´t be letdown if you buy the game. It´s worth the buck. I know I will be playing it for a long time.

Welcome to the Matix Forums [:)]

You may want to pick up Gates of Troy too to complete your game set. The two work together so you can play the Spartan Scenarios with GoT.

They are both a great value for your money!

My old Piczo site seems to be gone, so no more Navajo Nation pics :(
