Japanese Inf squads and the meaning of the "*"

Post by Afrika Korps »

What does the * mean in Japanese Inf Sqd A* -- I realize the squad is bigger, but is that all? The Japanese Inf Sqd A has 15 men, the Japanese Inf Sqd A* has 20. A lot of units on the purchase screen have the * next to them. Just trying to learn the finer points of the purchase screen. [8D]

I was thinking that the "asterisk" formations are those that have an inherent recon ability, but I'm not certain.

It is only to let a player know that one formation has a different build than another formation with the same name.

I think you will find that the Rifle Company* has more firepower than the Rifle Company
A Rifle company+ is more likely to have additional units such as AT rifle platoon or Light Mortar platoon.
A Rifle Company- is more likely to not have units in the platoons that you would find in the Rifle Company
They struggled with a ferocity that was to be expected of brave men fighting with forlorn hope against an enemy who had the advantage of position......knowing that courage was the one thing that would save them.
