1) It is slightly annoying to have to page through a bunch of city garrisons when looking for field elements in the army screen. A filter button that ignores all city garrison units would relieve this.
2) I have a pretty fast processor, so in detail battles the casualty reports flash past very quickly. Two means to alleviate this: a speed slider or a continue key. Better still, how about keeping a separate clipboard of all combat results in a turn, so they could be reviewed prior to the next move?
Finally, not a suggestion so much as an observation: if the game is started using "Quick start," alt-tab doesn't work. It does if started with the Game Menu shortcut. Since I like to tab in and out to do things like read rules and pick mp3s to play, this is (mildly) annoying, although hardly a problem.
I've just started this thing, so I'll probably have more ideas later.

More ideas later: I've noticed that if a detailed battle is fought in a turn, there is no mention of it in the turn summary. In fact, the turn summary stops right there, and doesn't include things like new builds and foraging losses, etc. I'd like to see a summary of every detailed battle afterwards, with glory and morale changes, etc.
