Matrix Release Schedule

Post by zowee77 »

Erik Rutins,

What is the ETA of Maximum Football? We now know you have the final release so at what point are you going to release the game? Will it be next week, next month, or several months? I know the Super Bowl is near will that have a impact on the release schedule? I know before it was somewhat premature to ask this question with the game in the beta stages but I would think at this point you could at least give us a time frame.

In exactly 21 days from now. This would be my second prediction.

OKay, let's put it this way:

In which quarter does Matrix see the game as being released? I mean with all the beta testing that has gone on, with all the updates that have been posted, with more and more mention of a release candidate, David and Matrix must have a fairly solid idea of a general idea of when the game is good to ship. So is it later in the first quarter? Second quarter? Q3? Q4? At this stage, and with the ramping up of information being released, the lack of a firm response by the parties involved, or the lack of any response at all, would be a good indication at a release in 2007.

That said, I cannot understand the demands of a lot of posters, looking for a firm date when the game is going to be released. Like they'd finally get their wish, Matrix would relent and say, for instance, "Okay, we're shooting for March 15." Then you'd have a couple hundred people waiting breathlessly all day for the little greyed out 'order box' to finally get some colour. And these same people who had hounded and hounded for a date will all jump on this board when that day comes and goes and all post to whine, "But you said..."

I'm asking for a three month window. A large target to shoot for. An idea when it COULD be released. I think that's reasonable.

P.S. The March 15 date in my post was a completely, totally made up date that I came up with all by myself, with no basis in fact or inference from Matrix. I just know how dates are on these forums, and someone will read that date and take it as the Word Of God.

That's happened before and it only made people even more angrier when the time came and went

They need to just be up front about it. Like they finally were with Combat Leader. If the game isn't ready or if it's just not what they hoped it would/could be, they need to back off their "It'll be released before x date, come back and visit everyday for more tease updates!" routine.

Of course, I'm hoping they learned a little something from Combat Leader, which they lead their fan base on for more than four years before calling it quits....errrr....indefinate hold.

Think about it, they're not going to give a date, one day it will just be ready on the websites.

David released the last build on 1/7 and it seems the beta testers usually have it for three weeks then David makes changes for 4 to 8 weeks then another build is released. So if this really is the last build then the beta team should be done around the 28th then give Matrix a week to arrange everything.

My guess is you will able to purchase it on either the Thursday or Friday before the Super Bowl

I hate that extra week also. Too much time for hype and nonsense with the extra week. I am already tired of hearing about the superbowl.
