Mines

Post by JagdFlanker »

reading though the after-action reports i noticed there seems to be the occasional mention of ships hitting friendly mines. does this mean it's a bad idea to mine friendly ports if you have any friendly traffic regularly visiting the ports?

if i were to mine say midway and the japs put an invasion fleet there, does that mean it'd be a bad idea to send a surface combat group or subs into the midway hex for fear of hitting my own mines?

No. The risk isn't large enough.

Big difference between friendly mines in a friendly port and friendly mines not in a friendly port.

SO if you lay mines in Friendly Midway ... drive the Battlefleet in and out .. no problem ... but if Japanese take Midway after you lay your mines and then you drive in ... then you have higher risk of hitting your own mines ...
