Random Drops to Desktop

Hi all, looking for some help here. I recently got MC DF and installed it. I'm running Windows XP Pro and I have C&C turned off, and I did a fresh install when I installed the MC (thereby createing a new steel.prf). I am currently at ver6.1.

The problem is that during gameplay I will randomly (it seems) drop back to the desktop. I haven't been able to even finish one battle yet. I've tried the Train battle at least twice now, and the night time version of the 1st fight once. The furthest i've gotten was about turn 7, (of the Train mission) before it booted me. It even did it once while i was looking at the encyclopedia. It booted me as soon as I hit the "exit" button.

Any helpful hints or ideas?

If it's only with MC DF there is a small patch that repairs some enomolies MC Desert Fox patch and then upgrade to SPWAW version 7 because we beta tested this version extensively with MC DF to fix those random crashes specifically, along with some other issues and they think that it got licked with the newest version of SPWAW. Good luck
