Other Period Games

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

I'm curious as to whether any of the grogs here play Shrapnel's tactical Horse and Musket series, and if so, what do y'all think of it?

Ditto Slitherine's Spartan/Gates of Troy/Legion Arena.

I have played the Spatan/Troy games

to be honest, I really enjoyed them (not haveing total control during combat can be a royal pain)

I don't think they really stand up to the historical sim idea, but very fun and enjoyable game

(funny you should bring that up, I have for the last week been wanting to find some times to crank it up again, but too many betas calling)

I like Dragoon from the H&M series quite a bit. I wish they would do a Napoleonic version.
