Replacements

Post by Sable »

I see on the land units an option to "allow replacements." does anyone know som especific information about this? i assume it takes a certain amount of time (depending on distance and amopunt of troops?)
questions though, relating to land replacements.
1. where do they come from
2. how long does it take
3. what other specific info is there that a noob needs to know?
4. can i set auto replacements and everyone will be full?
5. is there a finite amount of troops that i should be replacing only certain units?

i am playing the Rising Sun scenario so production is off. if it were on is it in rtelation to the manpower?
thanksfor the help.

1. the pool (of replacements)
2. a long time if you need alot. replacements for LCU's are designed to trickle in over time. You can maximize your efficiency by placing the LCU in a temperate zone, with an HQ (plenty of support) and the HQ has a leader with a high Admin rating

4. You might get away with this as Allied since they produce plenty of most everything (eventually) but as Japan this is not recommended...your pools are very finite.

5. Yes, (as Japan) not so much manpower but in weapons (such as AT guns...mortars etc)

This is not strictly accurate. Japanese replacements do consume squads and devices, true, but mostly these items are not from the pool, they are created as needed, as LCUs "qualify" to receive replacements. Squads are created only as needed; you will never find squads in the pool. Devices are created in batches of unknown size; LCUs take from this production what they are calling for this turn, and the "leftovers" go into the pool.

Squads and devices use armament points and manpower points as they are created. The cost in these points is the size of the squad/device in load points. Then, as they are added to their owning LCU, a number of supply points is expended, again equal to the size of the squad/device in load points.

Therefore, if you consider a hypothetical LCU consisting entirely of squads and devices (no vehicles) of, say, 1000 load points, you can say that to entirely replace all squads and devices in this LCU would cost 1000 armaments, 1000 manpower, and 1000 supply.

Vehicle squads work exactly the same way, except using vehicle instead of armament points.

yessss.....perhaps i should have said, the 'simple/general' answer is....the pool. I assumed the manual was read and the Japan player knows his pools are tied directly to the production model.

I believe that, generally speaking, this is ummmm, imperfectly understood.[;)]

I'm already on it cause of the horse steaks, remember? See that's the problem with having a list: once someone's on it, the threat of being placed on it no longer deters....[:-][:'(][;)]

Maybe they are all naked....would explain them liking the dark so much. [:D]

I'm working on a theory that women are grues with clothes on.
