Another huge convoy is spotted at 44, 49 (near Vigan)(temporary designation: J-002). Americans land 37 shells into defending BBs at a cost of losing a DD and 2 PGs; two more DDs are damaged.
AP Kurohime Maru hits a mine at Lingayen.
Japanese SS No. 29 torpedoes AK Montanes (Shell hits 2, Torpedo hits 3, on fire, heavy damage) at 42, 53 (near Bataan) but hits a rock in the process (hits 1).
One more convoy is attacked at 44, 50 (near Lingayen)(temporary designation: J-003). Americans damage 4 DDs, Japanese hurt 3 DD, a PG, and MSW in return.
In the meantime just a few miles away one more convoy is assaulted at 44, 50 (near Lingayen)(temporary designation: J-004). Americans sink a DD, damage 2 more and an AP, Japanese hurt 2 DM 5 DD, a PG, and a MSW.
Guam is bombarded.
Japanese take Lamon Bay base.
