Problem starting PBEM game

Post by FDRLincoln »

I load the 1926-1930 scenario using the PBEM option. I am the Japanese player. It prompts me to create a password. I do so. The game loads. I issue orders. Everything seems fine.

I save the game in an open slot, the first attempt was slot 190.
I then send the file to the American player.
I get the file back and put in the save game folder, but when I fire up WPO nothing appears slot 190. It's just a blank line like the rest of the slots. If I try to load it says "cannot load save game file." Note that I am 100% positive that I put the file in the correct save game folder. I have quadruple-checked it.

OK, so we decide to start over. I load the 1926-1930 scenario using the PBEM option. It prompts me to create a password. I do so. The game loads. I issue orders. Everything seems fine.

I save the game in an open slot, this time slot 100.

This time, instead of sending it to the Japanese player, I decided to see what would happen if I tried to load the file right then. It loaded, but it took me to the American order screen WITHOUT prompting me to create an Allied password. This is not right.

What I am doing wrong? I've played WPO and WitP before via PBEM without trouble.
