Casualty reports

Post by Willard »

Not sure if this is a question, comment, suggestion etc...

Anyway, was playing HTTR scenario (the 2 1/2 day Joe's Scenario) when I thought of something that seemed to be missing from HTTR.

As we are in the role of the XXX Corps Commander, wouldn't we receive some sort of status report on our forces and the enemy?
More specifically, I think a corps commander would receive casualty reports on his troops (he needs to know there status) and possibly enemy KIA and POW numbers, tanks destroyed etc. to give him an estimate.

I don't know how this would/could be implemented into game play, but it would be nice to have a mini-AAR screen every night. Obviously it couldn't be "accurate" and there would need to be a FOW incorporated in the numbers. But I think it could be cool usefull tool for a commander and would be nice to incorporate into an AAR.

I read Urquhart's account of Arnehm recently and he definitely received strength returns most evenings from the vairious regiments under his command. It would be a cool feature.

Yes. I can imagine those reports Urquhart received:

"Nice of you to rejoin us. We just attacked, and I don't seem to have a battalion left anymore."

Yes, and "Here is some hot tea and hot water for a shave."

I enjoyed reading the names of his officers:

Pip Hicks
Sheriff Thomson
Shan Hackett
Digby Tatham-Warter
Boy Wilson
Freddie Gough
Randall "Morph" Martin (the doctor of course)
Jasper Booty
Dickie Lonsdale
Harry Potter (just kidding)
