Got some bad news to report...

Post by Magnum357 »

I was planning to help out the community by making some 3rd party utilites to edit the Database files of MF, but unfortunetly, I can't seem to get my copy of Access to acess the files. Keeps give me errors everytime I try to open them with Access. If I can't get Access to open the files to begin with, I can't use VB6 to make utilities to manipulate things. I hope other people have better luck at this then I. [8|]

Sorry, why ? I have tried VB 8 and here i could open the databases. VB 8 supports Access 97 databases. VB 8 is as Microsoft Visual Basic Express Edition free so you do not really need VB 6.

Where can I get this "VB8"? I've never heard of it before you mentioned it.

VB6 acesses the database your going still have the same problem if you go to vb8 or vb2005.
Just make the form and put a new data<> thing in when you put in a textbox like it to the data do hickey thing and it will show you all the fields.

I have to admit not a very good programmer heres what i did. This was for the VCFL I altered for more general use maybe someone with better knowlege can build on it or just put it out to the trash.I wasn`t suew how to access different DBs so you have to put the db in with the program and change the name to lge_aaaa.I wrote formulas for the different positions and put in a college generator.Like I said before I am no programmer but if this helps someone try it.Its in VB6
