StarShatter Crashing

Post by ChromeDome »

Hi Guys
Hope someone can help here.
Just tried to install Starshatter on my PC (2.8Ghz P4; 1Gb RAM; ATI X800GT.256Mb). Initially installed the demo then the 4.5 patch but it kept crashing when I tried the first campaign. Then realised I needed the 4.03 patch. Deleted everything and started again: Demo, 4.02, 4.5.

It still crashes. Some of the standard missions run OK but the CPU is up to 100% all the time which shouldn't be happening.

Has anyone had this problem and knows a fix?

It ran OK on my notebook

Look forward to your reply...[&:]

Forgive me if this seems like a stupid question but...have you bought the full version, or are you trying to patch the demo?

Yes Dragonlead
Full authentic purchased licence.

I didn't realise it wasn't working correctly. I played a few of the single player missions before i started the first campaign, and it was only then that it started crashing. When I fired the program up it seemed to act a bit wierd on the resolution. Mouse restricted to only part of the the screen. I run my Video at 1600x1200, so tried reducing it to 1280x1024 but got the same problem.

Any thoughts??

Just a thought
I downloaded and installed 4.03 but when I tried to run it it couldn't find the 'shatter.dat' file which made me assume that I needed to install the demo first. is this correct?

Sorry to be a pain[8|]

No problem. Just wait until you get into the modding side of things. (and you will[:D]) You'll have a bazillion questions then and nobody will think you're a pain, because we've all been there ourselves.

Oh, we'll think your questions are a pain alright.... but we won't openly complain.

We've been there ourselves and had others give us help. Pain and all. [:D]

The latest game version is 4.50.
