More New Panzer Command Screenshots!

A brand new campaign-based 3D tactical engine covering combat in World War II, from the developers at Koios Works. The first operation covered is the famous "Wintergewitter" or Winter Storm, a desperate attempt by Hoth's 57th Panzer Korps to break through to the encircled 6th Armee at Stalingrad and the Soviet counter-attack by 2nd Guards Army that drove them back.

Post by Erik Rutins »

Hi all, here are a few more from beta to keep you busy. First we have a duel between German PzIVs and Soviet T-34s at about 750m.

Some Panzer IIILs have also joined in the fun, together with more T-34s.

I have a question regarding the orders and reaction phase 'bar'. It appears to be a 'status' bar that changes color? Is there any significance to this?

It's actually a time bar which indicates the % of the 40 second phase that has been used. The color doesn't change but it's progress from 0 to 100% does as far as how much is red.

It just indicates the passage of time. The bar changes from black to red as the phase progresses.

Very nice screenshots, ...

... but your terrain *does* need shading!!

In those screenshots one would not be capable of discerning the individual hills if it was not for the road running over them. This is not optimal!

Again: apart from that, those screens look great in a "sandbox" way.

Best regards,
Thomm

Thanks for providing screenshots with elevation differences Erik. I have to agree with Thomm that at the moment it looks as if elevation levels are going to be difficult to see, and also as if one may end up being snow-blind after looking at the screen for a while. [:)]

I recommend looking at some of the tweaked snow mods that modders created for light snow in CM. It may not be the most realistic look, but it certainly helps playing an awaful lot.

All the best

They should send you a beta copy and let you see if your shader tool could work with this.

OK, the red circle is around the wheels that have a problem, the black circle is the same vehicle type, closer to the camera. This must be an LOD problem. Two ideas, either push out the LOD distance or add a texture to the second LOD model to fix the problem. Or you can just leave it alone.

what ranges are we talking here from endmap to endmap? Looks at least 750m maybe 1 km?

Are all maps same or are some larger/smaller depending on the scenario?
