Canadian glitch

Post by BigSmooth »

I've attempted to create 2 leagues, 1 American rules and 1 indoor rules. I edit the league for the rules I want (American & Indoor) and go back to the previous screen, but when I go back into the league edit, it's showing Canadian but the American and Indoor settings are in place.

When I run an American league game my teams only get 1 timeout per half and the jersey numbers are not correct by position (10s, 20s & 30s on the defensive line, 60s across the O line and TEs (I think) in the 90s)

Am I doing something wrong?

Hmm I'm not sure if I understand what you're describing in your first sentence, but it sounds like the game is functioning properly here.

The 'default' on the lower right corner is what you're talking about? If so, this is not designed to show you what setting you currently have. It's there for you to quickly switch between the three default settings of US, Canadian, or Indoor rules.

As for the jersey numbers, that is as designed as well. All leagues seem to have different numbers assigned for positions at various era's in their existence. So in development, I worked with the testers to pick something that seemd to work for most cases.

I agree with David on this Number thing. Not all leagues use the same numbering system for there players. I remember reading a couple of years ago that a Minor Indoor League (the National Indoor Football League) used a slightly different numbering system compared to the NFL and some other leagues out there. Basically, there league has it where all eligable recievers can have numbers between 0 to 49 and 80 to 89 while inegable players must use numbers between 50 to 79 and 90 to 99. This was done because in many Indoor leagues (and in Arena Football) some players play on both sides of the ball. So a special numbering system was used too help out the Refs so they could identify eligable recievers better.

I can understand why David didn't make the numbering system strictly NFL style, many leagues use different systems and even different time periods had different rules on the numbering system.

Is there any way to customize the numbering logic?

Thank you for responding. I just wanted to make sure that I was not doing anything wrong when I was setting up the leagues. The uniform numbers I can adjust through the utility.

What about the number of timeouts in a half, is there anyway to adjust that? I don't recall seeing it in the utility.

Yes, that is an option to be edited in the League Details screen.
