Very odd problem

Post by rich12545 »

Well, let me try and explain.

All of a sudden the game wouldn't work. I would try and start it and all it would do is make a "bonk" sound and that's it. The game wouldn't open. I even tried the exe file directly.

I don't know why this happened but I know it started right after I had to install ms .net framework 1.1 for another game. I already had 2.0 so I thought I'd uninstall 1.1 to see if the game would work with 2.0 only. Anyway it did. I have no idea if this caused the psbb problem but since it happened right after I wanted to tell you.

Then I uninstalled psbb and deleted all reference to the game in the regedit. Then I reinstalled. And had the same problem. One other oddity. I now have a baseball folder in my games folder that I can't delete. If I try it says "cannot read from the source file or disk." Weird. I'd really like to see if you know how to fix this. Otherwise I'll likely have to redo the hard drive (I'm virtually positive that would fix it) and I really don't want to do that if it can be avoided. Right now the game is uninstalled. Any ideas?

Assuming you are running v1.21 try running this special debug version and send me the results..

Yes, that seems to have solved the problem. The game is working now. Thanks very much.
