Arcade setup question

Post by solops »

After seeing me play, my little boy has decided he wants to play while Daddy is at work. So, can he play arcade without a joystick or gamepad? I have only a mouse and keyboard and I do not seem to be able to find an arcade option.

Yes, you can use the keyboard for arcade play. (Though depending on how little he is, it might be worthwhile to pick up a Gravis Gamepad [;)])

Breeze is correct in that a keyboard will work for arcade mode but you're limited to 8 directions of movement due to the arrow keys. Depending on his age, he may not care too much about that though.

He just turned 8. He won't care. My problem is that I cannot FIND arcade mode. How do I get to it? In the setup, I usually selct mouse rather than keyboard. Given what you say, I guess I should select the keyboard instead? But what activates the "arcade"?

BTW I cannot find a Gravis website that shows their products. The link in the rules (gravis.com) goes to a site from which I cannot find a product list.

When selecting teams, select your preferred input devide (keyboard or mouse). Under that (or maybe right above that, can't remember) there's a box that says "Computer" or "Coaching". Change that to Arcade and you're good to go.

That is what I figured. But arcade never comes up. My options cycle between "computer" and "Coaching".

Hence my confusion.

Choose computer first and then drag the keyboard back to the square and click the left arrow and it should switch to keyboard. For some strange reason that worked for me.
