A beginner’s question

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

A beginner’s question

Post by Fred98 »

I have not played either game. What is the basic goal?

I presume you an airforce commander waging the air war.

If the bombers get through and hit their targets, how does this affect the results of the game?

Do the politicians and army generals have any input in choosing targets?

well
over all you are the Commander of the Airforces (Allied or Axis) (more then one Airforce to a side)

a target has a score value, plus a production value

so you have a EFAC (Engine Factory) which is a size 9 Factory, now that is going to be worth 90 points for Stat damage, but it also makes 9 Engines a day, if you knock it out, you get the points for the amount of damage done to it, but you also stop it from making Engines

(Engine and Airframe plants are the easist to figure out, there size is also how much they produce)

you have other targets

Railroads, Oil (2 types plus storage) Ball barings, Steel, Alum, and Chem

there are also Area (city-terror) Ports, Power, Uboat factories, Armaments

and then targets that help the war but not the score

Uboat pens, Airfields, Radar, V-Sites(you have V-Sites and VFAC's)

so you kind of got to balance trying to knock out the LW and knocking out the Production

plus you got your boss telling you that you have to attack Manatory targets

(if UFAC's get above a level, then you will be told to attack them before attacking anything else, which you could be told that 2nd Tac and IXth have to attack V-sites while the VIII must attack UFAC

which as the Axis Commander, it is your job to try and stop the Allies from doing so

you have 3 scores

AS, SD and TE

as it stands now, you need 75 points between the 3 to win, that may change

(AS, command of the air, your total planes vs the enemies total planes, SD how much production has been knocked out, Te, how much of the area targets have been destroyed)

there is more, but that should get you started :)

some targets are Critical, they may hurt other areas if they are knocked down low enough, Alum will hurt the number of planes being made
