Die-hard CL Boise - Gotcha!

Post by Mighty Atomu »

Just to complete an earlier thread on that die-hard Brookly-class light cruiser.

In my current game I made sure the Boise is a priority target.

So, a light carrier division (CVL, CVE + escorts) from Osaka was sent to guard the straight between Borneo and Mindanao. It caught the Boise. Three waves of two dozen tordepo-armed Kates (Range 4) didn't sink her [:@], but they inflicted heavy damage...

But a 2 BB + 2 CA + Escorts surface got her on the next day, as she limping toward Java (I guess)...

Imperial Navy destroyers offered survivors help, but they were too proud to accept it and apparently preferred to swim to Mindanao's shore and fight for survival with the help of some local people.

The IJN salutes them and wishes them good luck. It was an unequal fight, but such fights will follow later on against the IJN, on some Allied pay-back day...

Anyway: Key message to future IJN players. CL Boise is a priority target.

Now I got it off my chest!

Regards to all, foe and friend!

Saraba.

Filled with ping-pong balls, no doubt.
This game does not have a learning curve. It has a learning cliff.

Any bugs I report are always straight stock games.

Her two sister ships based in Pearl have been dispatched along with the CL Helena (another heavily armored CL) to avenger her death.

Yeah, after I stopped crying.[;)] I was surprised when she came back for a second visit the next night.
