PureSim 2006 Beta Signup

The PureSim 2006 testing process is officially starting tonight!

I am releasing an alpha build of PureSim 2006 to some testers in a few hours. The goal of this build (Alpha 1) is to get some compatibility testing done with the new in-game animation and sounds, and to smoke test the install to be sure everything is getting installed correctly. So, I'm looking to add a few more folks to the beta team if you are interested. At present most of the sounds are placeholders, I'm getting the official ones from Matrix soon.

The "Browse Almanac" feature is in there as well but it is incomplete, though I'd like to have some folks take a look at where I am heading with that feature. Sim 10 or so years and then visit the "Browse Almanac" menu item from the Almanac screen. Its coming together nicely! Multiple minors is in there as well, and the core engine is rock solid.

Really the primary goal of Alpha 1 is the install test and to collect feedback on the new in-game manager experience. Builds will be posted nightly from now through release.

If any of you have some time to dedicate to putting the above features through their paces and possibly helping out over the next few weeks then send me an email (shaun@puresim.com). Please include your serial number from PureSim 2005 Gold in the request. Only folks that own PS 2005 are eligible. Please don't inquire if you can't handle dealing with bugs, or if you can't commit any time to testing.

Note, getting selected for the beta team does *not* guarantee you a free copy of the game when its released. I am also taking on only a few more folks, so please understand if I cannot add you to the beta team.

I would love to and I'll definitely be buying the next version to complete me set [;)], but unfortunately I don't think I can devote the time needed to put the beta through it's paces and since there seems to be a limited number of spots available, I'd rather someone who'll be able to play the hell out of it do it instead.

I'd be interested. Sitting here listening to the Cubs/Cards game is really getting me in the mood to play some baseball (I respect Ron Santo as a player and for what he's gone through, but he's a horrible radio announcer). I've also moved to 4 day weeks at work, so I have a three day weekend every week. I've owned them all so far, so regardless of whether I get a free copy or not, I'll be purchasing this one too.

Thanks guys, the beta is in progress and closed at this time. You should be seeing the game released in May.
