AF Info Sicily

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

AF Info Sicily

Post by Hard Sarge »

okay, I have found a list of US Airfields in Sicily

9 of these are in the game now, under control of the 12th AF

4 of them show up in the game under MED control
Barcelona
Catania
Comiso
Torrente Comunelli

2 show up, that are not on my list of US AF's ?

Marsala (misspelling ?)
Baglio Rizzo

I need info or loc on the following

Agrigento
Borizzo
Mazzara (I think the one above may be a misspelling of this field ?)
Milazzo

any ideas on the MED controlled bases ? maybe MED controlled and later handed over to the US ?

over all I show 17 bases the US had, in game we only have 9

not that is a major hassle, but, most of the fields are out of decent battle range for when they are to be in use

any info would be useful

Hi HS,

Bo Rizzo is at the left edge of Sicily, about 8 miles south of Trapani

Milazzo East and Milazzo West are in the northeast bit. Look at a large map and find Messina, left of this is a thumb-shaped peninsular jutting out due north. These fields are at either side of the base of this "thumb".

Marsala and Agrigento ring bells, but not on my map. Were they battles ?

Bo Rizzo, Milazzo, and Comiso were at some point under RAF Command, yes. Think there was much swapping. [:)]

I use a book by C.G. Jefford, called RAF Squadrons.

It has very good location maps of all the airfields ever used by RAF ( home and abroad ). IF I get left alone here at some point I could scan the Sicily map to you.
