ASW

Post by stubby331 »

G'day testers & matrix staffers,

1st.
Can you run ASW patrols over specific task groups with both shore & carrier based air groups?

2nd.
I have read of primary & secondary mission objectives when assigning air groups. Is it possible to assign ASW patrol as primary objective with general naval patrol/ recon as secondary mission objective?

How much (if any) affect on gameplay/strategy does this have?

Stubby,
As far as air ASW goes the only option you have is to set your SQ's primary mission on ASW. You can not select a target for this patrol nor can you select a secondary mission.

Rick,
Thanks for the response. Bugger!, seems a shame you can't select SQN's to run ASW over task groups, especially as its seems from what ive read on other testers posts you can task subs to shadow specific task groups when required.

Just how much affect do subs have on gameplay compared to Pacwar?

How much effect do subs have

In 4 weeks against the AI American subs have sunk

1 x CA
3 X AP
1 X AV

that I know of, they also put 1 of his carriers out of action....

At the moment they are mostly deployed in laying mines around Rabual and Truk.

Hmmm

thanks for that. (go the kiwis for the 1 day finals).
Any repsonses from testers who are playing as the Japanese.
Just how effective are ASW patrols in keeping down Allied Subs?

How founded are my concerns that AI playing as the Japanese has ineffective ASW? (bearing in mind Im relying you very lucky testers for info?)

look forward to the response.
