I'm totally lost

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

I'm totally lost

Post by VinnyM10 »

Being a newb to War games, but someone who knows gaming pretty well. I thought I could figure this game out fairly quick. Was I wrong about that!! I just cant get a grasp at doing anything right.

Is there a faster way to learn the way things work and how the game plays? Or am I just going to have to keep going with trial and error.

It seems I cant build armies because my funds are low. Labor takes forever to build up and all this time, countries are kicking my behind all over the map [:@]

I hate to give up this game because it looks really good. But I'm just so frustrated.

Any ideas??

Thanks so much in advance,
Vinny

Vinny,
The best way to improve your economy is to play with the sliding bars at the upper left of your development screen. By moving them around you will discover which provinces produce what the best. Generally every nation but Sweden and Spain have two provinces that can be made to produce a lot of labor. In most cases, one of them is the capital province.
EVery nation in COG should be able to produce what it needs to at least maintain the army it starts with.
If money is your problem, there are two ways to get money. One is trade. To get a decent amount of money through trade, you need to build what other people want. France is horse poor(devoting more labor to agriculture increases horse production). Britain loves to buy wood and food. Russia can't afford to buy anything...
Two: If you are running a poor country, one of the best ways to save money is by decreasing readiness while at peace until you have some 2,000 money. Raise your readiness before you DOW a neighbor and try to end the war before your bank account is empty.
The money provinces are Denmark, south through Germany to Italy. French and British provinces are good payers, too.
