El Cid's RHS

Post by Ron Saueracker »

How are people finding some of the big changes that were made? I'm talking about his A2A approach and the changes to the naval stats primarily. Both show promise. I know it is too early for comment on his supply model.

Is this comment from Ron the nit picking critic who always objects to everything? Or a forgery?

Thanks for the "shows promise" Ron.

I thought Ron was the chief cook/bottle washer and tester for RHS

I don't object to everything, I just don't agree with everything. [:)] No seriously, the A2A and ship corrections sound very interesting.

I was going to test some stuff but got sidetracked with reality.

Dive in and try an AI game to get a flavor, Ron.

I've begun one I will run with for a while. Too early to answer you fully, but I can tell you that flak is certainly more potent, and a/c more vulnerable to it.

During the rollout I ran the Dec 7th turn quite a few times. The Pearl Harbor raid is dangerous for both sides. IJN casualties are usually i the 30's of a/c, although it sometimes ranges in the 50's or above. Once, 96. Current game = 76! I've had 3 battleships go down outright on the first turn. Current game, they all survived but had lots of damage to all - could have lost several (had lots of damage to smaller ships too). Espcially because of the DAY TWO Pearl Harbor attacks! As the KB leaves, because of the range of its planes and the route it often takes it frequently gets a second bite at the apple. At least once it sank a BB the second day. If any TF's are at PH it will maul most of them.

In current game Clark was annihilated. There were 5 a/c left. Not 5 ready, 5 TOTAL! there was 1 ready. 3 squardons had no a/c left at all.

Wow. Can you disband a unit with no aircraft in it? Or is it Fubar?

Just go for it, the results are quite good. It is still just in testing so things are still being worked on. RHS is more than just a scenario, cid is making a better beast.

"How are people finding some of the big changes that were made? I'm talking about his A2A approach [...]" (Ron Saueracker)

Well, I have been looking at the many units mostly. I have been doing the bureaucratic job as well: those units have to be in my 3 excel files [:)]

But I guess I should be "helping" (if I can). So I have repeated 4 times the first turn. Historical First Turn and Surprise OFF. More important aircraft losses.

As you already know, we are talking about the "classic" first turn attacks: Hawaii, Philipines, Malaysia, etc., etc.

P.S.:
1) Sigint menu has disappeared, is not in the game (is this normal?)

P.P.S.:
attachment is not necessary. I am hotlinking the pics. Matrix uses a very weird system. I still ignore how I managed to upload my handsome face and intimidating presence [:)]

Dunno. I took replacements and moved the units out (it took forever).
