Slo-o-o-o-o-w ball flight [Resolved]

Post by Bustoff »

Just started PS '07. Love it. However...I use custom ball parks rather than the default image, and the ball flight is really, really slow in all parks, even with game speed set to as fast as it will go. I could practically go get a hot dog and a beer waiting for a fly ball to drop. I built a quick association that used the default park for all teams, and ball flight was faster by a factor of 5 to 10 there. I know I can disable the ball flight animation, but I like it...anything else I can do?

Hmmm.

I just played with a custom park and it was fine. Can you do me a favor. Can you go to the team with the custom park and export the park to a .prk file (via the "Export" button on the modify ball park dialog) and email it to me?

Thanks so much for sending me the park files, I was able to see it in a second. This is caused by using a nin standard image size. You are using 1024x770. Simply resize the image to 1024x768 and you'll be all set.

Thanks again for taking the time to mail me the files. It makes it much quicker to diagnose this stuff.

Two pixels? Of all the luck...

OK, I plead stupidity. I have the *.prk files for these stadiums, but I do not have the *.jpg files to resize. I have about 125 *.prk files that may all be the wrong size for all I know. How can I do this?[&:]

Yikes, if you don't have the .jpgs this will be a bit of a pain but it can be done.

When you play a game puresim temporarily extracts the park to the following file:

c:\Matrix Games\PureSim Baseball 2007\html\images\park.jpg

So, if you start a game, copy that file to another location, resize and rename it, you can then re-assign it as a park photo for each park. That's going to be a real pain if you have a lot of parks though :( The good news is it does fix your issue.

I'll see if there is anything I can do with fixing the problem by manually sizing the images in-game but I'm not sure...

Shaun, You are right as usual...I resized Fenway and all is well. One park down, 119 to go. Yikes is right.

Thanks for your attention to this. Case closed.
