UPDATES & PATCHES

Post by Nick Papp »

Hello to All,

I wanted to send this note to start a new thread. First I'd like to thank everyone for their kind words on our efforts with this remake. Alot of hard work has gone into this project so far. Mostly by Arnaud Bouis of France and our Beta Team. We hope to have the chance to make this game even better with your suggestions.

Second, I'd also like to thank everyone who has made posts on this forum regarding the old and new bugs that are in the game. Some we caught, some we missed, and some were caused by problems in the Scenario Editor. I know we appreciate the feedback, but see that we are starting to get several repeats on reported bugs. To minimize the confusion, the "Bugs" thread will likely be shut down in the next day or so. I will be finalizing a list of reported bugs, which I will post to a new thread called "Bug Patch". This site will serve as our patch list, and as a way to add any new bugs you may find in the game.

We normally would have started to work right away on the bug fixes - anyone who has followed the development of SP:WaW should know this by now from Matrix. If our game programmer were not away on vacation, this would likely have already started.

A couple of things to note in the interim. Mike Wood, our Director of Programming at Matrix, will be working this upcoming week to modify the game's opening splash screens. He also plans to further modify and improve the PBEM Security routine that was added to the game. We also have a newly modified map done up by Bill Velovich of the which should add more authenticity to the map. It shold even effect the way you play the game by adding new twists in planning attacks, across river assaults. Fianlly, modified terain icons are being created to give the map a slightly different look. We may even be modifying the map colors to some extent - more on this later.

Thanks for your patience and support - we will with your help deliver an even better upgrade of this terrific classic by SSI and Gary Grigsby! Keep watching for new developments.

Regards,
