combat order

I'm having a great time relearning this game and have a question. It seems I once heard that there is a specific order to the way battles are resolved - and I think it had to do with the numerical designations of the corps (and possibly whether they are panzer or infantry). Also, does this order of resolving battles repeat itself at each of the possible separate 5 movement plots possible or does it change? Does anyboby have any info on this. Thanks in advance for any help.
