The trade AI is not that great.

Seems like the AI just loves high-skill MRs.

I can keep my team at or near the top of the standings for decades on end because the AI just loves high-skill MRs.

Shaun please tweak it to make Ai more smart on trades.

I agree, but every game's trade AI is weak in some area.  I think it's too hard to repllicate human thought in this area.  OOTP's is weak, Mogul's is weak, Eastside Hockey Manager's is good (not great), WWSM is okay.  There's no perfect AI for trades.

The MR thing seems to be a pattern. It would make sense to make trading a focus of a future patch.

I have not tried it recently but I think 3 mediocre MRs (or really anyone) when traded can get you an superstar...

I've only just begun messing with the game, but outside of the middle reliever's being overvalued by the AI, I haven't seen anything else glaringly bad.

I agree, though, the middle reliever issue could use a tweaking. I'm not allowing myself to trade away middle relievers for the time being. Too easy to get major upgrades in talent.

I looked into this and I saw a similar flaw (though not a gaping hole).

I just completed testing the new trade AI and it looks better. There is certainly not an exploit around the 4 MR's for a stud anymore. This new AI will show up in the next patch.

Thanks for posting your feedback on this.

Awesome, thanks so much! Although I'm sad it will make my job more difficult, it is a much needed change. Thanks again!!

The trade AI is very good now and quite tough to cheat it (with 1.16)

Perhaps this is era related (it is 1923 historical), but I'm at the trading deadline and I'm interested in the following player:

He is a 23 year old SS/2B with the following ratings:

C - 16, P - 12, E-12, S-15
R-10, A - 14, H -11, P- 19

I'd consider him one of the top middle infield prospects in the game, but only starts vs. lefties.

Current Stats - .277/.326/.377

His team is in 3rd place, 3 games out of first.  The also are the best pitching team in terms of runs allowed.  On the trade offer team every single one of my pitchers is listed as a viable 1 for 1 trade.

Including the following pitcher who is in my minor leagues:

29 years old, with the following ratings: S - 16, V-11, C-18, P -3 E-6, ERA in minors is 3.00.  Perhaps he would be the 3rd or 4th reliever for the other team.

What does everyone think of this trade?
