WiR Prog Lang

Post by StratMan »

Have also posted this to the techy Forum but just in case I can get an answer here first.

What programming language was WiR written in?
Just curious as part of my hobby is Programming, I can write in most forms of basic and Pascal is not to much of a problem to me, have recently been looking at learning C++ but would rather learn the Language of choice, ie what the games are written in.
I have also a limited knowledge and sort of understanding of assembler.
Thanx in advance for any help.

I am just about positive WIR, along with PacWar, is written in Borland C. Many games today are written in C++, but it wasn't around yet in the early 90s. Games where processing speed is critical, like first-person shooters, will usually have some portions optimized with assembler. Check out www.gamedev.net for more information - they usually have threads going about the "best" programming language for games.
