Seriously I love the fottage used in it, I bet you guy's had fun watching it all and had a hard time limiting it to just the fottage used. I wounder if their are any online means to order fotage of this nature from the original archives, like the Bundersarchive???

The National Archive is generally a very good adress for footage and everything else you need. The Bundesarchiv is pretty slow [;)]

The Bundesarchiv in Freiburg, Germany? Well, you can order digitized (CD/DVD) versions of some archived stuff, but you have to go to Freiburg for many inquiries, plus they charge for every page scanned or digitized, military maps for example.......Dunno whether they offer digitized films, at all.

EDIT: Yeh right, just posted in the same sec as Marc. The national archive might be a better source, and hey.....they "got" a massive amount of material in '45...just like the Russians [:D]

Very cool thanks, So many of the books I have that have the best pictures on the German Experance always seamed to list the Bundesarchiv as their source, so I though perhaps some of the fottage used was from their.

I read an interesting account some time back of just how much of the film they have their came to be in their collection, aparently from what I gather at the end of the war the keeper of the War Corspondant fottage, that is the fottage taken by oficial German Military corespondants was ordered destroyed, but the man who was responsable for it refused the order and loaded all the material into several trucks and headed for the allied lines (Western Lines) all the trucks made it except the one(s) aparently loaded with the material from the very end of the war, aparently this is why their is comparatively little fottage or pictures from the 45 perioud.
