Map Editor

Post by Mussbu »

Folks, has any tried to use the Map Editor? I have created a new map and want to base a new scenerio out of it. Hoe can this be accomplished? Also, I am unable to open/read the "readme" and "Must Read Notes", for this latest version. Help!

Unfortunately, I believe you can only have one map file, called sf.map, I think. All scenarios use this same map, so what you would need to do to make this work is flip flop map files before using different scenarios, or create a second copy of WIR on your computer using a different set of files. Then, using your map as the current sf.map, enter WIR, choose to edit an existing scenario, change it as much as you want and save it to a-j, it doesn't matter which as long as it doesn't already exist or you don't mind losing it.

This will create the start of the new scenario. Then you would use editwir.exe to make any other changes, if any, that you want to make to the scenario, such as unit strength, AFV or plane ratings, etc.

Good luck and let us know how you do.
