HQ reinforcements to battle not losing readiness

Post by NEON DEON »

This might have been noticed before but I just had a panzer korpse reinforced by the 98th infantry division which was resting in
hq at 28% readiness. The Panzer Korpse made Two battle pulses and 3
more plot moves. The 98th Infantry reinforced the panzer korpse on first battle
pulse. The next turn showed the 98th infantry at 99% readiness in a hex that had
a supply level of 2. The rest of the PZ Korpse units had readiness factors in the 20s and 30s.
I also noticed Russian battle reinforcements
not losing readiness too. Ie. Stalin would reinforce an infantry korpse with Tank division and at the end of the battle 5 hexes away from hq the tank division reinforcing battle would be sitting with readiness in the
70s while all other units in the korpse would
be in the 50s and 40s.

Thanks for the info. I don't think anyone mentioned it here before, but we noticed it in our playtesting a couple of months ago and it has been changed to leave reinforcements at a lower readiness. It would really change my strategy if it was left the old way, which is how it was designed, not a bug.

I sure hope reinforcement readiness is not lowered TOO much. Yes, the game was designed for high readiness ,and yes, refo's are rested units at HQ's (the program does not seem to send out units with readiness below 50%). If units will lose much readiness "in transit" to battle, leadership roles, reserve allocation, etc. will change, and the game will become much more plodding and predictable (players will simply monitor every stack more). We will lose the uncertainty/excitement that sudden, random reinforcements bring.

Well I understand the high refo thing but to
go thru a whole turn after fighting 2 battles
and moving five spaces and wind up at 99% when the unit was sitting originally in the
hq at 28% is ... well a bit much.)
