What ever happened to...

What ever happened to those World Almanacs they used to publish every year that had detailed info on military forces and equipment for countries around the world?

I think they were published by ABC Media and I used to get them in the late 70's through early 80's.

Anyone know of these or a source to get them?

There's The Military Balance. It comes out every year; you can find it at university libraries.

I had an old copy of The Military Balance. But at a $300+/- price tag I was looking for that old Almanac version which was like $10 and had a pretty good breakdown of military hardware, etc.

Are you thinking of the one done by Military Technology Magazine? Haven't seen them in years.
Gen. Montgomery: "Your men don't salute much."
Gen. Freyberg: "Well, if you wave at them they'll usually wave back."
