Ships stop with illegal nav message

I am playing a scenario where my ships have to sail through narrow waters. I am getting so many illegal nav messages that the game is not playable. I tried aligning the ships in a row in the formation patrol. It did not work. I can't upload the saved game to this board, but it is available.

I experienced this bug several times tonite while playing a multiplayer game of "Aegean" with the DB2K database. Very annoying with the bombardment of pop-up windows, and didn't seem to have any relationship with the proximity of my ships to land. The pop-ups were easily stopped by a simple change in course for the problem ship. Hope this helps.

I ran into the problem while doing the tutorial on the Formation Editor. I couldn't even quit the game. How do we get the maintenance releases?
