Q about database error (found by Witpchk)

Post by Monter_Trismegistos »

What this mean?

Location ID: 987 (14th Division) - changes in 24 months to a non-Command Organisation HQ (2nd Area/10)
Location ID: 990 (17th Division) - changes in 15 months to a non-Command Organisation HQ (8th Area/11)
Location ID:1014 (41st Division) - changes in 12 months to a non-Command Organisation HQ (8th Area/11)

These units are going actually to change what?

Maybe it means that those units will be automatically assigned to 2nd Area Army HQ and 8th Area Army HQ in 24/15/12 months?

These relate to a free change of HQ that the scenario can be designed for when that side is controlled by the AI.
What is being complained about is that the HQ is not a CommandOrgHQ.
I usually ignore or just change the HQ to a proper Hq number.

From editor manual (pg33)
For many ground units, the AI uses the otherwise unused Port and Airfield fields together to determine when to change their HQ, as follows:
The Port value is the month the change will happen based on the beginning month in the
scenario (e.g., based on January 42 equal to month 1, January 43 to month 13, and so forth).
The Airfield value is the Location number of the HQ that the unit will report to after the change occurs.
This allows the scenario designer to set up certain “free” HQ changes at a specific timein the game for an AI player using these units.

In CHS the first two are AA units - and the fields in question are zero - so you may have a bad file. In RHS the first two are the same - and the third is a reserve AA unit - also with zero in all fields of interest. So this error may indicate bad data in fields. That is a sign there are OTHER fields with bad data in your file set. Try downloading again.

michaelm: thanks

el cid again: That was in my own mod with all LCUs sorted. Forget about slot numbers, these were changed. But these units had these same values entered in stock. At least CHS also inherited those not empty fields for again at least Jap 14th Inf Div.
