Hello all!

Post by Hoth »

Heyas all.

I've been playing War in Russia since it was released in 93 by SSI. Played Second Front for many years on my Amiga as well. It was a pleasent suprise that I found out a week ago that Matrix Games did a remake of my favorite war game. Thank you soooo much! :D

Finally figured out how to use the editor. Never did with the original. I love this editor. Gave the Russians the city of Astrakahn south east of Stalingrad and it's T-34 factory. This was in Second Front but removed in Wir. Also added German night fighters for use in the west. He-219,Ju-88c,Bf-110g,and Do-217n. I got these from West Front but I'm not sure if the stats are right for WIR. I also tried to add the Ju-290a and Ju-352a transports for 1942 and 1944 but the game won't update the Ju-52 air groups when those planes become avilable. Heh been playing with the editor more than playing the game.

My dream game would be WIR and West Front combined into one game. Glad I found this msg board. Happy War gaming everyone.

By the way, Hoth, I also played second front on the amiga. I remember every week-turn takin about 15 minutes of wait before the computer was finished with its calculation. Remember the text on the game box? Play-time 100-150 hours or something like that, well IRL it took you much longer to complete the 41 campaign.

Yeah that were the days.

Quiz; Do you remember who was on the cover of the gamebox?

Thank you for the welcome.

Heinz Guderian. :D I actually still have the box and everything for the IBM version of Second Front. Amiga version was alot better because it actually had mouse support. Been so long I forgot about turns taking so long.

Correct answer! Yeah I also still have the box.

My problem was that I screwed up the original disc so I could only play the 41 campaign, not the 42. It was a real pain takin forever. But hey, it was all worth it. I guess the game was one significant factor bringing me to be a ww2 fanatic.
