A note on XML

A brand new campaign-based 3D tactical engine covering combat in World War II, from the developers at Koios Works. The first operation covered is the famous "Wintergewitter" or Winter Storm, a desperate attempt by Hoth's 57th Panzer Korps to break through to the encircled 6th Armee at Stalingrad and the Soviet counter-attack by 2nd Guards Army that drove them back.

A note on XML

Post by mbtanker »

I've always been too lazy to mod games myself as I prefer to just wait for others to do all the work.[:)]

But some folks seem to think 'editing' XML is hard or requires something special. XML is just a text file and can be modified with any text editor. You can use IE (Internet Explorer) to give you a color tagged version that is a bit easier to read. There are also free editors that make life a tad easier but are certainly not needed. The XML file itself is structured and tagged. Thus it is generally easy to read as well. The manual gives you a head start with some of the structure.

So if you like to mod don't let the XML stuff scare you off!
