New to SPWaW

Post by Mordeep »

Hello Guys

I started playing SPWaW a few weeks back I really loved the game. So I decided to download the updates 8.3 and 8.4. I couldn't get the updates to load into the correct files so I did some cut ans pasting to get them up and running. This sort of worked although I have some strange icons for some of the vehicles at times.

What is the way to get these updates into the correct files? Also I cant find the latest update for 8.4 which I have read about.

Then I went the whole hog and downloaded the Enhanced version2. Again I ended up having to exrtract everything into the main file and then cut and paste them into the other various files. But now the game crashes straight after the 2 advertising screens. Is there a way of getting these files to update correctly.

Sorry to be a bit of a noob at this but I can't find any threads with the same problems as me.

Thanks

The Enahnced Mod should be installed using the ModSwapper program included with the game. In the main Steel Panthers folder is an icon for the ModSwapper program; copy the Enhanced Mod into the MODS folder in your main folder, then run ModSwapper. Select the .spm file from the list and click Ok. ModSwapper will copy all the files into the correct folders.

Start the game using the MECH.EXE file if you are not already using it. Make a shortcut on your desktop to it, and use that to run the game.

agree,

get yourself back to 8.4 clean.

then use MODSwap , its in the main folder as suggested.

super easy to use.

just click on it. select intsall

then navagate to where you store Enhanced 2.0

select and presto !! your good to go.

if you still have problems there is a group of us online just about every night via icq,

mine is 27609820 we can get you up to speed pretty easy and if your[;)] game we can show you the online way to enjoy the game.

I think his main problem is getting the patches installed.  Thee should be an install funcrion for the patches.  If you give me a day or so I will post some pictures.  Im not at home for a few days (seminar).

Thanks for the help guys, a very enjoyable game. Been playing for a few weeks now and everything is up and running. However, I have been playing the Das Reich Campaign and have just hit my first bug. My computer can't load 'The Kursk Salient'. The error report is listing two files as the problem.

WERdf1e.dir\mech.exe.mdmp
WERdf1e.dir00\appcompat.txt

I will search the forums for other posts on this issue and raise a new post if I can't find anything.

Thanks again.

Nice call guys

Found the answer on the Das Reich site. Basically I have too many units in my core and so I need to edit the scenario and delete some units.

Thanks.
