Japanese Opponent Dec 8 Scen

Post by pmath »

I am looking for a Japnese opponent for the Dec 8th Scenario. I am a veteran at smashing the AI but realize a competent human represents a totally diferent chalenge, especially early in the war. I have a couple of weeks under my belt in my first attempt at pbem, so I am experienced at the game, but not PBEM. My email is pmath7@comcast.net

I am willing to play. I also prefer scenario 16 (the Dec 8th scenario). Stock map and Scenarios. 1 day turns. Historical Setup with extremely variable on reinforcements.

Options as follows:
sub doctrines off, everything else on.

House Rules (I hate but they seem to be necessary in PBEM game):
1. Airfield Capacity: No more than 50 aircraft per size level of airfield. Float planes do not count against this limit.
2. ASW...no more than 8 ships per ASW group. No more than two ASW equipped escorts per convoy ship (AK/TK/AO, etc) in a convoy.
3. No Strategic bombing of Chinese Cities (i.e. City attack)
4. PDU off

If you do not want these, I am certainly willing to play without them.

I can play Japanese. If you want to be Japan, let me know, and I will be US.

Adivse if you have any contributions to house rules that you feel are needed, and we will discuss.

Advise me which gamesave slot you want me to put the game in (all slots are available here).

I am able to do a steady one turn per day, sometimes 2, and more turns on weekends. I only want to play an opponent who can do about a turn per day as you lose continuity if there are several days between turns.

Standing by for your reply.

Sounds Great
Let me propose the following adjustments....

Settings

Facilities, replacements and upgrades all set to off
Advanced weather off (reduces luck factor)
Combat summaries and animation off, combat reeport on

House rules agreed with one requested excepton

I would prefer not to limit ASW, especially with sub doctrine off. I know this reflects history, but one of the biggest mistakes the allies made in the war based on their losses to subs was allocation to ASW, and if the Japenese had emphasized attacking thansports more, they would have been forced to adjust convoy ASW complement. I would like to be able to reflect a higher than historical emphasis on ASW if you could live with it.

I'm not emphatic about any of this, just requests

If you're good with most of this, bring on the first turn and slot doesn't matter.

Challenge accepted.
No problem on the ASW. I tend to work hunter killer groups myself.

I am setting the game up in slot 09.

I am leaving combat animations and combat summaries on, as I like to see them.

I hope to have the first turn to you late Wednesday night. I am about 1/3 of the way through doing it. Rather than miss something, I plan to finish going back through it tomorrow night before I send it off to you.
