HTTR maps into COTA (how?)

Post by PaulWRoberts »

I've seen that some people have experimented with porting HTTR scenarios and maps into COTA's editor, and I've been trying to work on the Arnhem campaign.

However, can anyone help me with the maps themselves? When I try to open most HTTR maps in the COTA map maker, the program just hangs and I must close it manually. Some maps do work (Son, for instance).

Since some people have already done this, may I ask for advice? Or may I ask others who own HTTR and COTA to try opening an HTTR map in COTA's map editor and post whether it works?

Thanks!

I had the same question, but finally I just left it on for about 1hr and it finished. I thought it was hung up. I then did the Map operations: Terrain, ... Map Cache (get it into the COTA MAP directory) and that took very long also but then when save with cache it was OK. I have a 3G Hz processor.

By George--It works!  It just takes a while.

Thank you very much.

I am still waiting ...

... et presto. Did take less than an hour. Thanks to the forum I knew there was something with converting HttR maps. Now I only have to fix the polder pattern.

Ok, I have fixed the polder pattern. I couldn't find a mod (didn't look very hard), so I made it. The patterns are copied from Httr. I hope there is no copyright problem, is there?

More people must have done this. To prevent double work for others, any chance this gets hosted on the COTA website?
