Back to Paper Mod

Post by Bil H »

I encourage everyone to take a look at the Back to Paper mod done by Robin Pirez: Downloads Markshot especially might like this one, has the old RDOA look.

Good stuff! Plenty to choose from in the mod department now.

Just a heads-up...

The second link for the Back To Paper mod is pointing to the 'Captain' mod...

Excellent work by all involved! Thanks!

Whilst these mods do look good, I have to say I like the original COTA maps and don't think I'll change them unless a map with contours appears

I tried Back to Paper last night. It is quite nice. However, the contrast is not as high for contours as what is in yours, Bil.

So, what's happening with Castle Ridge in yours? Can you fix it or is it a secret signal to the Aliens that the Allies are the good guys and dug-in to the South? :)

Thank you Bill for posting my mod.
As Markshot said, in Back to Paper Mod, I didn't try to accentuate the contour. But I will surely work on a "mod of my mod" to change the colors and make contours more visible and general tonality warmer with more yellow ocher and burnt sienna colours.
But I have to work as well on some models for our sequel of Birth of America. Be patient... [;)]

Sorry about that Bil, I'll pay attention in my next posts...

But all in all, this topic become very funny, no ? And Rednike make me really laugh out loud...

By the way, I hope my new mod, Back to colored paper" will be appreciate by those who wanted more contrast.

And I find this new ambiance, more colored and warm very pertinent with these mediterranean countries. What is your feeling ?

Robin,

Bien venue! It is nice to see you here. I have felt for a while that PG and AGEOD are two of the most innovative development teams out there. Perhaps, you should give Sandra a shot at a COTA map mod as what she achieved with BoA was simply stunning!

As long as we are correcting everyones' manner of address, my callsign is MarkShot (note capital "S"; pronounced Mark Shot and not Mark's Hot). Gee this is fun! :)

By the way, your sig should read "Have you tried ..."

A plus tart ...

Hé, hé Mark...
I note your capital S and promise to be carefull with such details in the future [:-]

Rooster, I thank, but why don't you let the precedent one available to download ? "Back to Colored Paper" Terrain Mod don't replace the "Back to Paper" Terrain Mod, it is only a coloured variation. [;)]

Robin,

I tried Back to Paper (Color). Very nice. I think the only effect I don't like is how woods turn almost black when zoomed at two highest settings. It seems green would be better to me than black.

Thanks.
