Reinforcing Africa

Post by Ruul »

The computer will not allow me to send reinforcements to Africa unless they are from the Italian 2nd Corp. Is this a glitch or is it representitive of Hitler's tight fisted approach regarding the African Campaign?

Also, when I send the units from the Italian 2nd Corp, they don't seem to add anything to Rommel's strength. In fact the computer reports that the Afrika Corps strength has dropped to 900! This is without transfering out any units, putting any units on training status or changing any air/ground units equipment.

Please help, this is frustrating!

Do you use rail transfer to reinforce Afrika Korps?
Italian units has very low experience and so add very little.
Strength apparently "drops" because of a bug which is fixed in the next release. Realy, only displayed number is decreased while actual strength is normal. If front strength is restored after reloading the saved game, then you are dealing with that kind of bug. If not, then I'd be pleased to look closer at problem if you'd be kind to send me your save game with reduced front strength.

I have tried reinforcing by both Alt-A and the Alt-T methods. Neither work.

Where would you like a copy of my game sent?

Ruul,

There are limits in all HQs to the total numbers of air groups and groung units. Only 10 air groups and either 25 or 26 ground units are allowed. Subordinate HQs and Korps count as groung units.

From what I can see, I haven't hit that limit yet.

I started a new game, just to make sure, and tried to transfer any other unit to the Afrika (besides the aforementioned Italians) and I couldn't get any.

I also transfered out Africa Korp units and tried to replace them. Again, no go. I counted units and I did not have 25 ground units even with subordinate HQ's being figured in. I did have 10 air units so that solves half of the problems.

Thanks, that seemed to do it. I guess it was the distance involved which made the Alt-V/R method the only way to move the stuff to Rommel. Then on the ship and off to Africa...
