Matrix games gone

Post by Chairman »

Could anybody tell me what the heck has happend in my computer.
Last night I was "playing" a bit with WIR and this morning I woke up to a new day and a nice little ziped game in my e-mail folder.

I moved it to my WIR map and started the game and my computer promptly informed me that it couldnt find what I wanted, hmmmmm.
Ok I started my PBEM program and it were blank, no Stell Panthers, no Pacific war & worst of all no War in Russia.
Is it possible with a virus attacking a single games folder??? or what has happend.

Please help!!!!

I doubt a virus hit you, as they typically don't work that way. If you were dragging things around, you may want to do a search for files and see if the folders were dragged into another folder by accident. Just click on Start, Find (or Search) and look for wir.exe and see if it finds it and where. This is assuming you have Windows on your machine. Good luck.

Hi and thanks I did find WIR.EXE nothing els.
No virus thats for sure. It could have been my children, 1.5 and 4.5 years but I doubt it.
Could have been a "visitor" from the web because only! Matrix games were the only mowed from that folder to the next HD in another folder.

But all is now ok, but I think I have to upgrade my firewall.
