How incompetent is the AI?

Post by Kuniworth »

Well I did a test. Played the 1941-campaign as the russian not moving a single piece or doing any deployment, just clicked "combat" everytime it was my move. The game-balance was set at even.

The result was astonishing. It took until the middle of november before moscow and Leningrad was captured. And It was´nt before 6/21/42(!) before the AI won the game.

scary.

Well, AI is good for learn the game and the rules, not to play. This is a game to play PEBM.
Interesting test, anyway.

The AI is not a complete disaster at playing Soviets during the early -41 campaign. But it cannot attack, that's why its hopeless as German. In scenarios where it purely is on the defense, it might do a little better.

Is it truly not possible to teach the AI to at least TRY to guard his flanks on the attack? You know, simply have a second Army follow the first through the breach and keep the line solid? Any chance at all? Arnaud?
