to provide support when moving near enemy or do I have to unload for each attack and then load to move on?

I started out here with the Tigers widely spaced out in front and then Panzer III's. By turn 4, although almost no enemy was sighted, most of them were wiped out or retreating.

My tanks were wiped in turn 2. They were in a row, 4 across, front towards the enemy, so I don't know what could be done.

Clicking on a unit, I often have many hexes lit up but the unit won't go to most of them
but might move if I move it one hex at a time. I have C + C off and Move radius on.
