Re: [WAD] B1776 KC-135R refueling Blackhawk

To expand a little on Dimitris comments, AAR is an area were we intentionally don't enforce some real world restrictions such as speed and altitude. If a rendezvous can be achieved and the tanker and refuelee have compatible refueling systems, then the tanker will offload fuel. It's there to help ...

Re: [WAD] Pole Positions - SDV can't reach beach

I'm pretty sure it should be keyed to the SDV not the Dallas. As I mentioned in the recent AAR thread, I'm going to rework the scenario to remove the scripted drop off and pickups and replace them with normal cargo.

Re: Pole Positions 27/6/17

It annoys me that I can't find the fixed scenario. I'll chalk it up to me not pushing it to the GitHub I maintain for the official scenarios... I'm pretty busy the next few weeks but I'll add refixing the scenario to my to do list. I'll take your feedback into account as well. Can't promise I'll ...

Re: Pole Positions 27/6/17

I know I did an update that removed the scripted landings and recovering and replaced them with units that were dropped and recovered via the cargo menu. I also made a number of fixes. That's not the scenario I see in the installation folder though. I shall investigate when I have some time ...

Re: Reassessing JY-27 Radar capabilities

Considering operation Absolute Resolve, should we expect a Database revisit / reassessment of JY-27 capabilities against stealth aircraft, it jamming resistance and integration with IADS? It seems that their performance was far from stellar

That's up to the DB team but probably not. We haven't ...

Re: one way mission

What doctrine do I need to select to make a UAV fly a 1 way mission (i.e. ignore any fuel RTB). Thanks.

Change the doctrine "Fuel State RTB (Joker)" to "No". I change it on the mission or unit levels since you probably don't want your other aircraft to ignore fuel state. Use a strike mission if ...

Re: Please use this to post ready scenarios for Community

Not a new scenario, but a small tweak should be made to one scenario in the Pack:

Assault on Banak, 1985

"Realistic Submarine Comms" is enabled on this scenario, but it must be disabled. The player is only in command of this one submarine, so it would be absurd for the submarine's own captain to ...

Re: THEY ARE RETIRING THE A-10S!!!

This has been a political struggle for many years now.

I personally don't support retiring the A-10 without a comparable follow-up aircraft. The airframes are aging, and they can't serve forever.

I'd rather see them sold to an allied nation, like Ukraine, Germany, Poland or South Korea, than ...

Re: Any new LIVE scenarios on the horizon?

I did notice that.

The LIVE seemed to be situational-based, while the Showcase seemed to be more centered around specific units being introduced into a situation. Both were good, but I preferred the LIVE.

In either case, it would be nice to have a new one sometime soon.

LIVE is dead. Although ...

The USAF has been trying to get rid of them for 20 years. It's congress that's forced them to keep them.

Re: Sprint and Drift for Surface Groups

Why is Sprint & Drift implemented at individual unit level only and not at group levels? If would make much sense for CVBG to move in this manner imo

If you're carrier is sprint/drifting you're doing it wrong. Escorts sure but carriers shouldn't/would never do that. Carriers are going to go ...

Play the scenario in Editor mode. In standard play, no, you get whatever the scenario designer decides.

So, is it only important for the repairing time?

Yes

Is this a good way to model this? Thoughts?

Lowering proficiency is one way to do it. I've never done it, but if lowering proficiency isn't enough, I think you can directly modify a units OODA values using Lua. You could also randomly ...

Re: B1776. Aegis ashore late or no detection of russian BMs

Part of the problem with the Saber is the missiles are too close. They're above the max altitude of the AEGIS radar (1500km) for most of the engagement window. By the time they are below that, it's to late to take the shot.

Moving the Sabers back to the edge of their range did result in some shots ...

Hi everyone, it's been awhile since I've posted an update. I've been waiting for the new patch to release with DB514. There's a few additions I added to it specifically for this scenario. The new underground bunkers with increase damage points will be used for Fordow. Think Operation Midnight Hammer ...

Re: Shattered Trident, 1994 - JMSDF scenario vs. DPRK

I guess that makes sense. Only 4x Harpoons made me feel that each one had to count against the missile boats, especially since the helicopters don't have any anti-surface loadouts.

I firmly believe that any submarines in a scenario should mean including at least a few biologics.

I disagree ...

Re: Airport Layouts and traffic choke points

However, IMO that kind of thing is too rare to justify adding a built in function to have the game disable air bases that way. It is the kind of specialized thing that Lua is in CMO for.

We discussed more detailed air base ops a few years ago, specifically carrier deck ops. In the end we ...

Re: So, when can we expect formal announcement of the next DLC?

Regarding scenarios with performance problems, try any large Fury series offering e.g. Persian Pounce (Indian 1), Caught Flat Footed (Pacific 3). You only have to look at the huge amount of memory the game takes-up (via Task Manager) to know that you're going to have problems unless you have a ...

Re: So, when can we expect formal announcement of the next DLC?

I think a bigger limitation on the size of ground scenarios would be the way gunfire slows down the game.

But in any case, in my opinion, unless the individual units are "sized up" (i.e., using the generic company unit with 12x T-72 mount, instead of 3x platoons that have 4x T-72 mount) the ...

Re: So, when can we expect formal announcement of the next DLC?

The newest update supposedly includes an expansion of ground combat (Hannibal), and other new features, so I suspect it may be a while. Any big change like this has the potential for bugs, so I'm sure the developers trying to get it as bug-free as possible.
