Build colony ships manually at your planet. You can't build them in the order ships interface in the construction menu for some reason that escapes me, but you can build them directly at the planet by clicking on the planet and going to the build menu at the bottom. Hey, at least 'you' can GET another planet. I can't get my colony ships to so much as pick up colonists, let alone go and colonize worlds.

Hey, at least 'you' can GET another planet. I can't get my colony ships to so much as pick up colonists, let alone go and colonize worlds.

Ship hulls having size limits is great.


I absolutely loath ship size limits with a livid passion. It is an utter copout, a failure of imagination.

Leave the ship size completely free, but introduce a tech category maybe called "Ship Scaling" which increases the size of ship your empire can ...

DWU had a nice system for me. Fixed ship sizes with preallocated equipment module slots is a MAJOR step backwards in my opinion.

Zero tax is NOT optimal. Those doing the preview streams have determined this without a doubt. You get more by taxing and using some of that tax to fund colony growth (and research) than you will by having zero tax and therefore doing no such funding.

Just bought it (from here of course). I think this is the first game I've bought in at least a half year, maybe more. Been playing oldies but goodies, as very few new games seem to have much appeal to me these days. Obviously Distant Worlds 2 is the exception.

How are fighters at penetrating high level armor? Of course, my range attenuated torpedoes probably aren't better.

I think a large part of my own success is due to being able to quickly gain a massive technological advantage.
